SDC - Day 1

After we left Benjamin's appointment in STL, we headed down to Branson to use our season passes one last time at SDC.  We've really enjoyed the four family weekends throughout this year that we've spent there.  It was a fun change from our usual birthday gifts to the kids.  We're going to take a break and skip going next year, but that's not to say we won't do this again!

Christmas in The City is SPECTACULAR!!  The lights....oh, the lights.  There are over 4.5 million lights on every place imaginable.  There is Christmas music playing all around.  There are the usual yummy foods, but also stands with yummy hot chocolate, apple cider, and more.  Best of all the true story of Christmas is told all over the park.

We enjoyed some great shows.  Our favorite was Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol.  Probably our next favorite event was the train ride that has lights all along the route, and stops midway for a story telling of Christ's birth.  Also, the 5-story Christmas tree with amazing light/music show starts each evening with the telling of baby Jesus.  Very cool!

The rides....well we knew that it would be too cold for some.  The bigger rides only operated at temps above 40, so for most of the time we were there they weren't running.  We still got our share of rides in, though.

Okay, on with lots of pictures.  I'll make a separate post for each day.
