Day 17 - Road Trip - Nevada

This morning we loaded up the van with a couple of extra suitcases and two guest passengers.  Yes, Grandpa and Grandma are road tripping back to Missouri with us!  We said good-bye to the rest of the family and stopped to worship with our "home" church before hitting the road.  It's hard to be heading back east, but at least we still have Colorado to look forward to.

The kids declared me "best mom in the world" because I allowed them to have cupcakes, ice cream, whipped cream, and popsicles for breakfast.  We were cleaning out the fridge and freezer before vacating the rental!  It's vacation, right?!

Awww, kissing cousins!

Outdoor worship at Tahoe Christian Center, overlooking the lake.

We drove Highway 50, the "Loneliest Road in America".  Four years ago we discovered a Shoe Tree out in the middle of no where.  There were literally hundreds of pairs of shoes tied together and thrown up in the tree.  Unfortunately earlier this year vandals had cut it down.  All those shoes now lay along the roadside.  It's really kind of a funny place.  The next tree over has now become the tree that lives on.  :)

The loneliest road.....it really does go on and on and on without much life in sight for miles and miles.

At our destination for the night, camping with Grandpa and Grandma.  We have beautiful mountains around us.

What a wonderful vacation you are having, and you get to take Grandma and Grandpa home with you. How many people does your "BUS" hold anyway?

Sometimes I wish that camping was in my blood. It looks like such fun, especially as a family.

We get to have our two little ones next week. I can hardly wait. Parents will bring them and then we will take them home on the train. Fun times!!!

Enjoy the rockies and be safe driving home.
