"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Caring for orphans and widows goes hand in hand.  Friends of ours through the community of adoption have introduced me to a wonderful organization that does just that.  Both Hands Foundation serves widows while raising funds that help families to adopt.  I love the concept of this ministry!  If you go to this page and scroll down to Kevin and Janet Bourke you can read their family letter that explains who they are serving (specific widows) and what the proceeds are going towards (their next adoption). 

Kevin and Janet have such a heart for orphans.  They were empty-nesters when they first adopted Philip, who lived at Shepherd's Field orphanage with our Elijah.  They then returned to China to complete the adoption of their Elijah, and are now hoping to travel by the end of the summer to China for a third time to adopt a girl, Sophia.  Incredible!

I can't wait to see this princess join her three brothers.  What fun Janet is going to have with PINK!  We love you Bourke family, and are inspired by your faithfulness to care for orphans and widows.  I imagine many of your friends are padding their retirement accounts about now, but you are laying up treasures above.  Awesome!
