Surprise!

We have been planning a Florida vacation since the first of the year.  Every other year, three times now, we've gone to Destin for a spring break beach vacation.  We love camping there and have great times. 

About a month ago, Chris and I got to thinking that it was time to take the kids to Disney World.  It's something we've wanted to do, but just hadn't planned it out yet.  So, we cancelled our camping reservations, booked tickets for the Disney World parks and kept a big secret from the kids.  Oh, that secret keeping is hard stuff, especially when the kids started asking more detailed questions about our upcoming trip....clothes to pack, temperatures, how long is the drive....  So, rather than waiting until on the drive down, we broke the news to them last night.  Oh, it was fun!  We had a package for them to unwrap, telling them that it was something to pack to take on the trip.  Inside were some Mickey Mouse items and some spending cash for each of them (since, if they had known, they would have been saving up for this special trip).  Michaela figured it out first with a big grin on her face.  Benjamin and Johanna were kind of in disbelief.  Elijah didn't know quite what to think.  And Ami, the one whom I though would be most excited, was disappointed that we weren't going to the beach!  I think she'll quickly change her mind once she actually sees what's in store.  :)

So, it's off to Florida tomorrow!  We're packed up, ready to go, and looking forward to another road trip with great adventures awaiting us.
