It's Off!

Today was Elijah's big day.  It's been almost seven weeks since he broke his arm and had to endure a cast and no swimming.  He has handled it so well and kept a wonderful attitude despite his limitations.  We have been to the pool a LOT this summer, but he never complained.  He often stayed home with Michaela (who is not so keen on swimming) and was given extra computer or TV time.  Now he can join in on the fun at the pool and try to make up for lost time.

Headed out to bust this thing off!  He did collect some cool signatures, but we were glad to throw the stinky cast away at the orthopedic office.

He had a nice layer of dead skin, but we got to scrubbing right away.  He also enjoyed a shower tonight instead of a bath.

Off to the pool and ready for fun!  Elijah does have to wear a removable brace for the next month, and he is to stay off bikes, scooters, etc.  (Maybe we should ban the scooter for life!)  No diving either, but he is more than content to be able to play in the water.
