Scenes of Summer

Yes we did, we headed to our favorite deli for free tea day.  Michaela also had a $5 coupon from her birthday, so we enjoyed some free cookies, too.  Yum!

 

Ami has really turned into a bookworm this summer.  She has read through a dozen fairy chapter books, as well as several other picture books from the library.  Every time I turn around she's saying, "I just finished another one!" 

Elijah has also been doing a lot of reading of his own choice.  He is still enjoying the Box Car Children series and often relays back to me the story lines.  He's read so much, that the characters are very real to him.  We'll be out and about doing something and he'll tell us how the Aldens also did such and such.  His reading skills are improving slowly but surely, and I still have to remind myself that this kid didn't speak a work of English 3.5 years ago.  Pretty incredible!  I love seeing my kids enjoying books!
